Commencing from the Aberaeron Tourist Information Centre, follow the signs for Ceredigion County Cycle Route 3 through the town and onto the dedicated cycleway along the beautiful bank of the river Aeron. This is a flat traffic-free cycleway - less than a mile from Aberaeron - with a picnic site en-route and several benches at scenic points.

Beyond Llanerchaeron, this route leads further east along the Aeron Valley discovering the villages of Ciliau Aeron, Cilcennin, Cross Inn and Pennant on the way. Take time to explore the secret garden and woodland walks at the Ty glyn Davies Trust Community Garden, north of Ciliau Aeron, and then retrace your route to pick up the lane to Cilcennin.
The remainder of this route offers quiet lanes with stunning views of the Ceredigion countryside. As you return towards Aberaeron and Cardigan Bay, enjoy the vast seascape visible from the Aberath church, built on

the hill, hidden behind a headland to hide it from the Vikings. Take care on the decent towards the coast, cross the A487 and follow the dedicated cycle land back into the town.
